3 parts · about 11-14 minutes. The Speaking test is the same for Academic and General Training. Part 1 is an interview about familiar topics; Part 2 is a long turn where you speak for 1-2 minutes from a cue card, after 1 minute to prepare; Part 3 is a discussion of broader questions.
Read each question aloud and answer as if an examiner were in the room, speak, don't just think. You can optionally record yourself and play it back at the end. The timer paces each part, and moves you through Part 2 automatically.
When you finish, a band-standard sample answer is revealed for every part, with a checklist for the four marking criteria: Fluency & Coherence, Lexical Resource, Grammatical Range & Accuracy, and Pronunciation. The samples stay hidden until you finish.
